The Center for Communication Practices will be closed for winter break as of Wednesday, December 14th. Tuesday, December 13th will be the last day of tutoring for the semester. If you are in severe need of a tutor, please contact Barbara Lewis (lewisb2@rpi.edu) for possible consultation during break.
The Center for Communication Practices will re-open on January 24th, 2012.

The Center for Communication Practices provides a forum for students to review their writing or oral presentations with trained and experienced peer consultants. Our goal is to provide students with strategies that will help them become better communicators, in the classroom and beyond.
Students from all disciplines are encouraged to bring assignments or personal projects of any type—essays or lab reports, resumes or doctoral theses, PowerPoint slides and more. Whether the work is nearly completed or still in the planning stage, we will work with the writer to take their project to the next step.
Our consultants provide writers with a fresh perspective on their work and the writer remains in control of all changes made. The CCP is not an editing or proofreading service; instead, we teach students how they can edit their own work to improve their technique as a whole, not just for one assignment.
We recommend you check out preparing for a session before coming to the CCP, so you can get the most out of what we have to offer.
